Disputing a ticket

  • You have 15 days to pay or request a screening. If you do neither, the ticket is affirmed and fees are added.[1]
  • Request a screening review on or before the due date: fill in the Request for Screening form and email it, with a copy of your vehicle ownership and photo ID, to screeningrequest@london.ca.[1] Official page
  • Tickets are issued against the plate, so only the registered owner can dispute. If you are not the owner, the owner must sign the City’s third-party authorization form.[1]
  • Screenings and hearings are held by phone, Zoom or email correspondence, and requesting one is free. The AMP page notes that in-person sessions aren’t currently held. Appointments can’t be rescheduled once booked.[2]
  • Missed the deadline? You can ask for an extension of the screening deadline, no later than 45 days after the penalty notice date. The City grants extensions only for extenuating circumstances.[3]
  • Disagree with the screening decision? Ask for a hearing with a hearing officer within 30 days of the decision, using the Hearing Request Form from your screening officer. An extension request is allowed up to 45 days after the decision.[2]
  • Once a penalty notice is paid, it can’t be reviewed.[3]
