Common questions

Renting out a parking space: common questions

How much can I rent out my parking space for?
You set your own price and can change it whenever you like. For parking, that's an hourly price, plus an optional day price that caps a booking of up to 24 hours; storage has a monthly price. Parkeas doesn't take monthly parking bookings. For market context, in public classified ads we checked on October 6, 2026, private monthly spaces near downtown Kitchener, Grand River Hospital, Kitchener GO and the two universities were advertised at about $75 to $260 a month (the table on this page has each place). What a space is worth comes down mostly to whether it is covered or secured and how close it sits to a campus, a GO station or a downtown core.
What does it cost to list a space?
Listing is free. When a booking completes, Parkeas keeps a 10% host service fee from the booking price. Each weekly payout has a $2.25 transfer fee, and a payout goes out once at least $10 is waiting. If you cancel a confirmed booking yourself, 2.9% + $0.38 comes off your payout. There is no monthly charge and nothing to pay while your space sits empty.
When do I get paid?
Payouts of eligible earnings run weekly, every Monday, through Stripe to the bank account on your host profile.
Am I allowed to rent out my driveway in Ontario?
Usually, but it depends on where you are. Zoning and by-laws differ between Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, and if you rent your home or live in a condo, your lease or condo rules may also govern who can park there. Check those before you list. Parkeas cannot give legal advice, and you are responsible for making sure your space is allowed to be rented.
What kinds of space can I list?
Driveways, private parking spots, garages and parking pads, commercial lots outside business hours, and indoor storage such as a spare garage bay or a basement room.
Is Parkeas like Airbnb for parking?
In the way that matters, yes: you list a driveway, parking spot, garage or storage space, set the price and block the times it isn't free, and people nearby book and pay through Parkeas. Guests get an access PIN and QR code, hosts complete identity verification before their listings go live, and eligible earnings are paid out weekly. It covers Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, Ontario.
