Parkeas is committed to making its website and app usable by everyone, and to helping guests find spaces that suit their needs. Hosts describe their own spaces, including step-free access.
Accessible Parking Spaces
Hosts can list accessible parking slots with the "Accessible" tag when a space suits guests with mobility needs. Parkeas doesn't inspect spaces, so check the listing's photos and description, or message the host, for details such as:
- Extra width beside the vehicle
- Level or ramped access to the parking area
- How far the space is from the entrance
- Signage and markings
You can filter search results by "Accessible" to see the spaces hosts have tagged near your destination.
Digital Accessibility
We aim for the app to work well with keyboards and screen readers, but we haven't run a formal audit — so rather than claim a WCAG conformance level we can't back up, here's plainly what's actually in place today and what still needs work.
Reduced motion
Animation respects your OS-level "reduce motion" setting automatically, and can also be turned on manually from Accessibility settings.
Adjustable display
Signed-in guests can turn on high-contrast mode, larger text, a font-size slider, and a colour-vision filter — applied instantly across the app.
Responsive layouts
Pages reflow for phone, tablet, and desktop screens instead of using a single fixed layout.
Structured dialogs
The mobile navigation menu is marked up as a proper dialog for assistive technology, not just a styled div.
Known gaps we're still working on
- Several icon-only controls in the top navigation — theme toggle, language switcher, menu button — don’t yet have screen-reader labels.
- The "Skip to main content" link on every page doesn’t yet land on a labelled content landmark.
- The Screen reader optimized, Voice announcements, and Haptic feedback toggles in Accessibility settings are saved to your profile but not yet wired to real behaviour.
- We haven’t commissioned an independent accessibility audit, so we’re not claiming conformance to a specific WCAG level yet.
